Located between the Alps of provence and Var in southern France, the verdonne grand canyon is the first grand canyon in Europe and the second grand canyon in the world. It cuts the Alps in half and forms one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in Europe.
The verdongrand canyon is 25 kilometers long and 700 meters deep, and the water at the bottom is as clear as the blue of the cote d ‘azur. Between castillo and the holy cross, the valley was like a long, winding belt of jade.
Originating in the provence mountains at the southern end of the alpine Shanxi Province, the verdonne river flows through the valley, its water is very clear because of the melting snow from the surrounding mountains. The steep and varied limestone walls on both sides of the gorge, the green mountain forests and the turquoise river at the bottom form the attractive scenery in the gorge. The river verdon, which runs through the canyon, is a fast flowing river. The section of the river near the holy cross is a little wider, and the water is relatively slow enough to row into the canyon.
There is a magnificent cliff path south of verdongrand canyon that is quite breathtaking. Following this zigzag path, one can enjoy not only the deepest and narrowest views of the canyon, but also the strength of the rock against the river.
As far as the eye can see, the rock wall is covered with green trees, which seem to hide the sharp mountain ling of the canyon cliff. It is no wonder that many universities in Europe have field teaching practice bases here.
