The jury noted that next year, the 75th anniversary of the end of world war ii, will be marked by a series of celebrations across the Netherlands. “The vibrant city of Amsterdam is always worth a visit and you can take part in the fascinating celebrations of each city through the excellent train network.” April and may are the best months to visit the Netherlands, with king’s day on April 27, liberation day on May 5 and the eurovision song contest in Rotterdam in May, the agency said. “Along a network of more than 35,000 kilometres of cycling roads, you can explore attractions outside the city, such as the UNESCO world heritage site Wadden Sea, and explore the rich natural resources this small country has to offer.”
